The Work Behind Louisiana's Growth

The last few weeks have reminded me why I love this work.
Last month, Lori and I joined COLAB at a Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority meeting, where Henri Boulet, Executive Director of the Morganza Action Coalition, gave an update on the LA 1 Improvement Project. LA 1 is the only road connecting the mainland to Port Fourchon, which supports 100 percent of the nation's deepwater oil and gas production. My family and I drive that road often to get to Grand Isle, and it's been exciting to watch the progress in person, especially with my two boys, ages 5 and 3, in the backseat asking questions the whole way. Henri's update was a good reminder that projects like this move forward because people show up, ask questions, and stay engaged. My boys cannot wait to drive on the finished bridge when it is ready!
From there it was on to Grand Isle itself for the CCA Legislators Rodeo, where industry and conservation groups shared the same goal: protecting Louisiana's coast. I caught up with clients, friends, and colleagues, and left with a reminder that when these groups sit side by side, the coast wins.
Closer to home, I watched what used to be farmland in Lafourche Parish become McLeod Business Park, thanks to a FastSites investment that will help Louisiana compete for new jobs and investment.
The final stop was New Orleans, for the Gulf Coast Energy Forum. The event was held the day before the Department of Interior opened bids on its latest Gulf lease sale, making roughly 80.4 million acres available across the Gulf's planning areas. Aurora has worked in offshore energy policy for more than a decade, so conversations like these feel personal to our team. The Gulf has powered American energy for 70 years, and it isn't slowing down.
Different rooms, different issues, same thread. Energy, coastline, infrastructure, and economic development all move Louisiana forward. Aurora gets to be part of that work. I'm proud of what our team does every week, and even more excited about what's next for our state.
