Why Energy Education Starts Here

Last week, Aurora facilitated the Bayou Region Energy Leadership Series at Port Fourchon on behalf of COLAB, and the setting made the case better than any presentation could.

Port Fourchon services 100% of the Gulf of America's deepwater energy assets. It is the backbone of Louisiana's offshore energy industry and a critical link in the nation's energy supply chain. Standing at the water's edge, that reality is impossible to miss.

Aurora President Lori LeBlanc joined Chett Chiasson, Executive Director at Greater Lafourche Port Commission (GLPC), and Kristy Quintal, Corporate Affairs Senior Advisor at Woodside, for a conversation on Louisiana's evolving energy landscape and its connection to workforce development and economic growth. GLPC Deputy Director Davie Breaux closed the day with a waterside tour that put the port's scale in full perspective.

This is exactly the kind of work Aurora shows up for. Energy education in Louisiana is not just about policy or industry trends. It is about helping leaders understand what is at stake and why the decisions made here matter far beyond our region.

The Bayou Region Energy Leadership Series runs four sessions and brings together industry leaders and regional partners to strengthen South Louisiana's long-term competitiveness. Aurora is proud to support this work alongside COLAB, South Central Industrial Association, Atchafalaya Intracoastal Coalition, and Louisiana Future Energy.
